Summer Home ware

So...I know from my blog's title you may be led to believe that I will only babble about fashion, however today my babbling will take a different path. Home ware. Crazy, I know!

These adorable products are all you need to spruce up your home or bedroom ready for Summer. All of the items are pretty basic, yet can make a massive difference to a room.

Summer Homeware

photos are from polyvore-I do not own them
1) Things box ~ £3 ~ Primark
I love the basic wood design and, of course, the price! This is perfect for storing all the miscellaneous things in your room that have no assigned place.

2) Owl jar ~ £10 ~ BHS
This is an adorable, yet simple, way to store things in a room like bits of jewellery or even lipsticks

3) Reserved cushion ~ £6 ~ Primark
Primark does it again: beautiful home ware and a beautiful price! This cushion is perfect for saving your favourite spot on the sofa!

4) Japanese-style bowl ~ £2.95 ~ dotcomgiftshop
If you are a regular to my blog, you'll know how I'm a fan of this online shop. Their products are cute with a vintage touch and not to mention reasonable. This bowl is known as a 'dipping bowl' but there are bigger versions and other patterns to choose from. I think this would be perfect for storing rings or bracelets that you wear every day to make them accessible in the mornings.

5) Handled mason jar ~ £9.99 (pack of four) ~ drinkstuff
I have developed a bit of a love for mason jars. Being a Pinterest user, you can barely escape them! You can use them to serve cold drinks in the summer or, alternatively as a vase for flowers. You can buy four for £9.99 from the drinkstuff website so you can do a bit of both!

6) Desk organiser ~ £2.95 ~ dotcomgiftshop
I love the colour scheme of this pencil pot, the colours are muted and almost pastel-like, giving it a summery look. This is perfect for those people who tend to have their pens scattered all over the place!

7) Skurar plant pot ~ £3 ~ IKEA
Many bloggers have these pots to organise their homes. I love the frill detail around the edge of the pot and I think that it is the perfect way to store pens or make up brushes. This style of pot comes in a variety of different sizes-so stock up because this is the perfect excuse to get organised!

8) Crochet blanket ~ £75 ~ Cath Kidston
This blanket is beautiful and the pastel colours are perfect for summer. It's pricey but gorgeous!

Primark Nails

Primark is my go-to shop for cheap fashion fixes. In my eyes, it has evolved and the stock is the best it has ever been. Gone are the questionable pieces which were as see through as a window, Primark has upgraded. The clothes are just as good quality as other high-street stores (if you're selective) and the selection is incredible.

Before, I tended to avoid Primark cosmetics. Sticky lipglosses, removed from packaging didn't really appeal to me. However, the new 'PS' range has fantastic beauty items at fantastic prices.

On a recent trip to Primark, I found the most adorable cat nails for £1. That's right...£1! I was so enamoured by the quality (bearing in mind the price). You get 24 nails and a tube of glue which has lasted me 4 manicures. I recently blogged about the cat nails, click here to read!

Anyway, I'm going slightly off tangent. A while later, I made another trip to Primark. To my disappointment, the usual range of nails were there: the classic french tip, slightly sparkly french tips, cupcakes, strawberries etc etc. Although this range is cute, I was hoping they may have updated the selection. However, as I was about to queue, I spotted another rack! *Cue lots of excited dancing* (I know, sad right?!)

Anyway, this selection were brand new and perfect for spring. There was a vast array ranging from bunnies to chevron patterns. After a bit of deliberation I settled for two boxes of fruit-themed nails and a tribal patterned set. You may be wondering: 'why did she buy two packs of nails?!'
Well, my friends, because with Primark you never know when products will come and go, so if you see something you love and it's cheap-stock up!

I recently applied the fruit nails and I absolutely love them. There is a range of nails with four different designs: watermelon, pineapple, strawberry and kiwi. What I love the most is that the pineapple and watermelon nails have glitter detailing which is adorable!

The nails are super-simple to apply and the results look pretty professional, even for a nail-novice like myself. The nail glue included is confusing. I had no idea how it came out of the tube! However you work out how to use it, apply to your nails in a ventilated area and read the instructions first.

Based on the £1 price, I kinda assumed that these nails are a disposable, single use product. So, if you see a design you love, get a couple of packs! Although you get 24 nails in a pack, they vary in sizes and therefore may not make up two complete sets if some don't fit.

When you start your manicure, ensure your nails are clean and free of polish. Then, apply a thin coat of glue and quickly pop the nail on. After this, gently apply pressure on the nail for a few seconds to make it stick. To speed up the process, lay out the 10 nails you are going to use beforehand ensuring that they fit the nail you want to stick them to. Go careful with the glue-you don't want to stick your fingers or eyes together! Ouch!

(What I assume would be) Fake Nail FAQs

Will they damage my natural nails?

Not horrifically, but you may have glue residue on them and they might also feel a bit weaker. The
effect also depends on how long you have them on for.

How do you take them off?

There are instructions with the packadvise to remove them with acetone nail polish remover.
Resist the temptation and refrain from picking them off. This may damage your natural nails.

How long do they last?

Around a couple of days at most, you can pop on a little extra glue if a nail becomes loose.

Is it difficult to type or put your hair up?

Nope, not really. I'm typing right now and my hair is up!
